A poem I decided to write, of course without proper rhyming
By: JLW
A clouded mind, a shattered soul
A storm is brewing, hovering off in the distance as I gaze upon the last rays of light.
The storm was fierce, majestic even, but the light was the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen;
It's rays reflected off the rain in the distance, creating a white and glowing film over my world.
But then the light was gone, and I was alone
I walked the lonely path, dark and desolate.
A drop of rain falls, but I keep walking.
I keep thinking about that last ray of light, wondering when it would come back.
A lightning bolt flashes in the distance, an ominous presence in my mind.
And still, I keep walking in search for the light.
Suddenly the downpour comes and a bolt of lightning strikes nearby.
Even still, I keep my reserve and continue my search.
Trees began to close in on me, their wicked hands shadowing the ground every time a clap of thunder appears.
Then I realized, in a very short amount of time, I had walked a thousand miles.
I continue, the light of the morning sun filtering through the pink, red and orange remains of the storm.
The Earth begins to crack under my feet, sending tremors up my spine.
I keep walking.
Suddenly the crack widens, swallowing my world whole.
I now realize I am walking in the deep abyss of space, which called to me a thousand celestial fires.
All of these spheres spoke to me, but I could not hear them; I only wanted the light.
It was the light that I sought, and one I was determined to see again.
I travel to the edge of the galaxy and continued walking.
My legs grew heavy and weak; my exhaustion was getting the best of me.
Even still, I kept my pace, stopping for nothing.
I pass many stars until I cross the path of a supernova,
Large and blue this sun was, but it was not the light I sought, so I continued.
I crossed many planets, none of which bearing the same similarities as my own,
A planet that was seemingly lost to me.
Then I found it, hovering alone at the center of the universe.
All of the celestial fires spoke loudly now, but still I could not hear them.
Their voices turned to a loud roar as I approach the planet, intent on my mission.
I walked onto the planet as if it were open to me and gaze around.
I notice everything that is pure in the world, but the voices finally stopped.
It was here I realized that to find this light, I had successfully walked to the center of my universe,
One that is forever beholden to me until my soul whithers and dies.
Even still I would walk beyond the grave,
If only to find that light once more.
I will leave the readers to figure this one out.
Hope you liked it.

Light, Glorious, and Majestic
By: JLW
From the darkness comes a light;
a light, glorious and majestic,
in proportion and in purpose,
that many fail to comprehend,
its awesome power.
A power capable of moving mountains.
From the stress of life,
will soon come the
inevitable string of events,
that will uplift your life,
and bring about a harmony,
that only you can enjoy;
an enlightenment that only you can understand,
for only you comprehend,
at least in part,
the fundamentals on which it stands.
Throw away the weak,
bring back the strong.
For we have no need for indulgences,
or a materialistic, false reality,
that we have subjugated ourselves into.
What is happiness, but the blood in your veins,
a beating heart, and the heart
of the one you love;
healthy, happy, and right next to you,
basking in the same level of contentment as you.
And so we begin our journey,
so long, so memorious, that we soon forget . . .
that which we once held ourselves,
persistently, arrogantly, and negligently towards.
So
let us begin . . .
and become enlightened.

When does one realize that enough is enough? The inexplicable ravages of
human nature and fate collide and create a universe that is both outstanding, as
well as tempting? When do we realize that sometimes life will throw something at
you, no matter how extravagant or horrifying the circumstance, and we learn to
adapt and survive despite the logical reasoning that would be our own reluctance
and hesitation?
When people face extraordinary circumstances beyond their
understanding and control, they will surely change. When does indifferences of
the people around us dictate our actions unbenknowst to whom it may concern?

decide the outcome!" --Jeffery L. Woodruff

Fickle: Love, Life, and Death
In this world,
so bleak . . . so terrible,
we live, we love, and we die.
But are we forgotten?
We fight, we strive to the meet the needs . . . for who?
Is there a point?
I believe there is.
The worth is in the act.
We affect the world with our whims.
Everything that we do means something;
everything that we do will affect someone in some sort of way.
It is time to do something right;
it is time to stand, and shout out what you believe in.
We have lived in a world full of responsibility;
we have lived in a world full of self-preservation and selflessness.
Many people have affected the world in their own way: whether small or large
matters not
only the act . . . that is all that matters.
In this world,
so bleak . . . so terrible,
we live, we love, and we die.
But are we forgotten?
What is the worth of an act when you are forgotten in time . . .
once you die?
NO
We affect the world in small incriments, and in such ways, that we barely see it
. . .
but we do.
I know of few people who have shown their kindness,
those who have a life of their own,
who opened their ears, and listened to the troubles of others, and provide helpful advice.
In this I see hope;
I see hope knowing that no matter how much hatred I see,
no matter how many wars our country gets involved in,
that we, as a humanity, have a chance . . .
a chance to make a difference.
. . .
no matter how slight.
After the cold embrace of death touches us,
sending us off into a mystery all in its own,
are we forgotten?
MOST DEFINATELY NOT!

As time passes, so does our world. A neverending series of ages pass away as technilogical advances and great achievements soar and change our world. The inexplicable ravages of time is not possible to circumvent, for when fate and destiny interferes with reality, nothing is safe.
Giovanni Jacova, a Navy SEAL for the United States of America, is thrust into a world not of his own. When the past converges with the present, old tensions arise, and conflicts ensue as were their wont. He is sought out by many factions: from the Holy Genosire; to a lonely Sorcerer named Hekyl; the Guardians of Aerydail--AKA the Guardians of the Universe; the Fervin Alliance; and the Menstrohil Alliance.
The Great War for the Universe has been raging for over a milennia; and it has just come back to Earth for a second showing. The Earth was forever a part of the war; over a milennia ago, in the dark ages, sorcery and magic played a large part in the history and the shaping of the Earth. But as time passed, so did the recollection of those events. There are, however, subtleties that hint at the existence of the events past, but none see it. History books tell it; our greatest cities, monolithic structures, and monuments show it. Yet, despite the circumstances, only shall the most perceptive understand it, recognize it as no one else can.
A New Age is coming. Few will see it, but only those who can percieve it and the current, otherworldly signs around them. But in order to procure the necessary events to trigger this New Age, the Chosen One must be found. And whoever finds the Chosen One will directly affect how the New Age will start and how it will play out thereafter.
Misconceptions, feuds, . . . and magic. All will play a part in the shaping of the New Age. The Chosen One has already been chosen; but now he must pick a side, and stick with it. We shall start with a Tale of the Ages, and conclude with the New Age. Many stories and events shall unfold: treaties to be made, love to be adorned and scolded, adversaries to vanquish, and much, much more is to be had with this Great Change, for it shall encompass the Universe in its entirety as we know it.
The time has come for the Chosen One to pick a side . . .
. . . and prepare for the New Age of Understanding!

The Guardians of Legend : A Tale of Two Sides
Time knows no bounds,
for when fate plays with reality,
anything is possible.
Mysterious and all powerful Guardians of Legend;
they are the embodiment of the Guardians of Aerydail,
though many are unaware of their existence.
Anonymous they may be,
watchful they shall forever be,
so long as injustice rules over the known universe.
What you read, what you hear,
is not always the full story.
As sure as the sun will rise,
there will surely be a forked road,
full of endless possibilities,
that shall baffle all who gaze upon it.
If there is a beginning,
then it lies in the creation of the Universe.
If there is an ending,
then it lies in the ultimate destruction of the Universe.
With that said, know that there is always a story,
behind every story.

Deep into the darkest reaches of space there lies a gem; a gem so powerful that many try to harness its awesome power. Not many know how to harness the power of the Taleeleacto--or in the human language, the Talisman--but those that do represent a great danger to the lives of all the sentient creatures of the Universe. The Guardians of Aerydail--home to the planet of Therydail--seek to keep the Taleeleacto to themselves, content to make sure that no other species with ill-intent tries to use these most sacred of gems.
Meanwhwile, down on Earth, Giovanni Jacova is seeking his most dangerous foe: Byeoung-keun. The world is threatened, and it is up to Giovanni and SEAL team 2 to bring this Korean militant to his knees. Wills are tested, politics is displayed, and strengths are unleashed as SEAL team 2 must take out the most dangerous individual in all of planet Earth. But there is another threat, one that causes much more damage than any group of misfits. The Taleeleacto is here, and it must leave; but how?
Out in space, the Fervin Alliance are fighting a mighty war against their most hated foe: The Menstrohil Alliance. Out for the same thing--the Taleeleacto--the Fervin Alliance fights to make sure that their adversaries do not obtain the object of their demise. So far they have been successful--having been at war with them for going on thirty years--but now the Menstrohil Alliance are closer than ever to the Taleeleacto, and all their needs must do is grab ahold of this all-powerful gem, and use it to bring the Fervin Alliance to its hands and knees.
The galaxy known as Aerydail, home to the planet of Therydail and the mighty Guardians of the Universe (A.K.A. the Guardians of Aerydail) is where the Fervin and Menstrohil Alliances used to call a sanctuary. The Fervin and Menstrohil Alliances, dominated by the species known as Lekolai, were forsaken from their ancient realm due to the war that they were engaged in. But this wasn't the start of it all. Oh, no. The start of the war was when two specific, unknown Lekolai forsook the Vrealaskri Alliance--Godfather Alliance for the Lekolai species.
At first it was the Lekolai who created the Menstrohil Alliance. His main goal: to gain dominance over the Vrealaskri Alliance, and the Guardians who had forsaken them from the lush and beautiful lands of Therydail. To bring about a new beginning, so was their mission, but they didn't count on another Lekolai creature forsaking the Vrealaskri Alliance as well, and creating one of their own.
The Vrealaskri Alliance were dissuaded by the idea of another of their species creating an Alliance to directly combat the Menstrohil Alliance, but there was naught that could be done about it, for they gave their subordinates more freedoms than were necessary. And so, the search for the Taleeleacto has been started; the Fervin and Menstrohil Alliances are snapping at each other's necks as they seek to find a spot to bite, and obliderate the other before death takes them.
For all the species involved; venturing into the nomadic age of their species was difficult--even moreso when they reached the Industrial Age of their civilization, where technology arose and began to dominate the known species. But now a single force is threatening to destroy all life in the Universe, but only one will survive; who will it be?
